The other day I tried to make some coffee art, its really hard to get the colour really dark unless you put a solid coffee granule onto the place you want it along with a drop of water. Definitely try this technique, smells amazing and is easy to do, it will work better the less water you have in the cup, so the concentration of coffee is higher. It takes quite a while to dry but just be patient. This piece is just a drip effect, I was exploring the topic of 'mess', inspired by a book my friend got me for my birthday. I titled the watercolour board in and angle of less than 90 degrees and let the water do its thing by dripping, I tried not to add too much water so it wouldn't run straight off. The places where I thought needed more... oomph; I added coffee granules straight to the board.
